Namco-Bandai and their newly-minted publishing company SURGE release 5 videos of their third-person fighter Afro Samurai. Voiced by the venerable Samuel L. Jackson, Afro Samurai features its signature blend of hip-hop grooves (this time out provided by RZA of Wu-Tang Clan fame), a stylish samurai manga flair and bloody gameplay that should work to satisfy fans and newcomers alike.
50 Cent asked for money up front, and when it became an issue, the two had an altercation. "Yeah, we got into a little scrap, a little boxing match," said 50. "Well, it wasn't really much of a boxing match because he hit me in the back of my ear. He's so fast, he's just so fast. The thing about it is, everyone who is around him works for him. And for a second, he tried to talk to me like I was one of the people working for him. He tried to tell me what to do so I grabbed him. I snatched his litt… Continue

While hip-hop junkies and partygoers are currently bopping to Busta Rhymes and Ron Browz's new hit single, "Arab Money," one fan feels the song is nothing to dance to. Iraqi MC, the Narcicyst, is outraged by the lyrics and claims the track to be racist and degrading to his culture and the Arabic community. "Once again, Arabs are represented as these arm flailing, oil rich, loft having, private jet taking, camel toe lady bangin', desert camel riding, bearded sand men," s… Continue

MTV has canceled 50 Cent's reality show after just one month on air because of low ratings. The show debuted in November, but I'm sure it will be replaced by something we'll all enjoy. Perhaps "Daddy's Girls," the spin-off of Run's House which follows Angela and Vanessa Simmons, will fill… Continue

When couples wait too long to ask for help, the relationship may be beyond repair. The sooner help is sought, the better chance there is of recovering, saving and actually strengthening the relationship. This includes issues dealing with affairs or other types of betrayal.
“The longer we wait, the more entrenched we get in destructive patterns and resentment and all hope for change is lost.”

CNN reported a story that hip hop MC, Common stated "President-Elect Barack Obama will change hip hop."
The article went on to say that Common has sold out.
"Common used to be a "conscious emcee" Common, short for common sense. His lyrics used to be a relevant commentary on the African American experience, until he sold out rapping about GAP vests and sweaters a couple of years ago.
The truth is hip hop needs to return to its roots. Too many rappers, especially the S… Continue

WHAT IS IT?
It’s an invitation to all serious unsigned hip-hop artists in the Tri-state & New England area to put their best songs against another artist’s best songs, live on the radio, and let the listeners decide for themselves. Not only will the two songs be played back to back on the radio, but they will also be on Hot937.com! Remember, we now stream live on the web which means you are being heard worldwide. So step your promotion game up!
WHAT IS THE CRITERIA TO ENTER?
You must be an unsigned artist (s) from the Tri-state & New England area, seriously trying to make it in the music industry. Hot 93.7 has the right to be selective. Once selected you might receive a phone call in advance or you might not...you should be checking the site to find out if and when you got your spot!
CAN AN R&B ARTIST ENTER?
Yes. BUT NO SLOW JAMS! We are inside the best dam mix show period, not late night love!
WHEN IS THE SHOWDOWN?
Saturday Nights on the ONAIRIDIOTS SHOW! Kicks off at midnight with the hype…throw down in the showdown 12:20am. Claim a winner the following Saturday night at Midnight. www.onairidiots.com
HOW DO PEOPLE VOTE?
Voting is done on the web. www.Hot937.com. Both songs for that week will be on the website from Saturday to Saturday. People will only be aloud ONE vote. To make sure of this, the system is set on the website so all you can do is vote once.
HOW DO I WIN, AND WHAT HAPPENS IF I DO?
We will tally up all the votes every Saturday between 2pm and 7pm (whenever we can get to the poll) from the website and we will crown a winner that Saturday night at Midnight. . If your song makes it 4 Saturdays in a row, the song gets retired. Upon retirement, you are excepted into the Unsigned Showdown Hall of Fame forever! (check the link on this page). And of course, you will receive a performance spot at the next annual UNDERGROUND JAM !
CAN I ENTER ANOTHER SONG?
You may enter another song into the SHOWDOWN 8 weeks after your last song has been knocked out. So yes. You can enter as many songs as you want until your song gets retired. It just shows how focused you are to get onto that UNDERGROUND JAM stage!
WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE BEEN RETIRED?
Being that the Unsigned Showdown format has changed slightly, we are opening the Showdown up for anyone! If you had a song retired in the past and you performed at Underground Jam you may enter another song for another shot at that UG Jam stage. Basically, you could perform at UG Jam every year if you have a fan following to vote you in every year.
WHAT ABOUT A CALABO SONG?
We do not except large calabo songs. If it’s a calabo with someone on the chorus of the song or even one verse of the song, then that is expectable. BUT no Wu-Tang like 3-8 rapper calabos are acceptable. Also remember, if you win with a calabo song, the artists featured on the song are not the winners, whoever’s song it is becomes the winner.
WHAT DO I SEND?
Send us one CD. Make sure it has your full contact information and Myspace Page on the CD AND jewel case. The CD should have 2 tracks.
Track 1. A RECORDED DROP FROM YOU
Let DJ Biggmann and K-dubasis Runnindis know who you are, what city/state you reppin’, WHO MADE THE BEAT, and of course why should the listeners vote for you? Then introduce the song that is about to be played. (The drop should be no longer than .45 seconds and it can’t have a beat behind it!)
Track 2. YOUR SONG
First off, make sure it is over an original beat. No jacked beats! Make sure it’s clean and the quality is up to the standards. In other words, make sure its radio ready. If its not, it goes in the garbage.
WHAT IS UNDERGROUND JAM?
It is an annual concert put on to celebrate the anniversary of the Saturday Night Unsigned Showdown on the Onairidiot show. The concert is formatted to let any artist perform that gets their song retired in the showdown within the 52-week span of a year. The song must win 4 weeks in a row before week 52 to qualify for a 10-minute performance. The concert also has a deejay showcase, a pressroom, and an emcee battle with special guest judges. Some headlining acts in the past have been Guru from Gangstar, Sean Price, Pharoah Monch, Buckshot, Mims, Saigon, Joe Budden, and Talib Kweli. This event attracts all media in New England that has to do with Hip-hop. It also attracts the general public that routs for the independent artist.
**Non-serious artists need not apply:
If you can’t follow these simple rules and regulations to enter the SHOWDOWN, then you are not that focused! This is a chance to make the music industry aware that we got serious hip-hop artists as a whole.
ALL CD’S SUBMITTED TO THE SATURDAY NIGHT SHOWDOWN WILL BECOME PROPERTY OF WZMX, HOT 93.7. YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR WORK COPYRIGHTED AND PUBLISHED. **Although not required!
